The American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative, “Go Red for Women”, addresses the awareness and clinical care gaps of women’s greatest health threat, cardiovascular disease (CVD). Wear red to be seen, to be counted, to be heard, to make an impact. Together, we are stronger than heart disease and stroke.

Send your photos wearing red to linda.costello@maryland.gov or on our Facebook page under our post “Go Red for Women”

Health Education and Outreach Department staff of the Garrett County Health Department encourage you to wear RED on Friday, February 6th to show support for women with heart disease and for all adults to take preventable steps to reduce their risk of being diagnosed with heart disease.

Know Your Numbers and have your blood pressure checked often. High Blood pressure (Hypertension) is known as the "silent killer" because there are typically no signs or symptoms when your blood pressure is elevated.

What’s good for your heart is good for your brain.
